Dig for the Cure

Every year in October, two of the best volleyball programs in the Valley meet each other as a part of District 30-5A play. But Mc Hi and Sharyland also make their October meeting something special - a game played to raise funds for breast cancer research. The Rattler's gym was festooned in pink - both teams wore the same pink warm up shirt with "Dig for the Cure" on it - both teams wore pinks socks. They even entered the gym at the same time and together.

But when the official's whistle blew, the camaraderie was over. This was one fabulous match. Though the Lady Rattlers took the win, it took them five games - and truly, the match could have gone either way. It was exciting, well-played volleyball. Kudos to both teams.

Oh yeah - it was loud in the gym! Way to go, fans!
