Football Playoffs - Harlingen South @ Nikki Rowe

The Nikki Rowe Warriors had a chance to face the Harlingen South Hawks for the second time this season.In their first match, The Hawks got the best of the Warriors. this time, it was "Win or Go Home" for both teams. The Harlingen South Hawks got on the scoreboard first after a couple of turnovers. The Nikki Rowe Warriors offense never got to run in all cylinders and the victory went to the Harlingen South Hawks 41-21 over the Nikki Rowe Warriors.

Congratulations to the Warriors on a great season, and we wish good luck to the Harlingen South Hawks in the next playoff round.

Football - McAllen Memorial at PSJA

The PSJA Bears hosted the McAllen Memorial Mustangs on Friday night. The Mustangs needed a victory to move on to the playoffs while the PSJA Bears were still looking to close their season with a victory. the McAllen Memorial Mustangs stroke first and too the early lead that prevailed after a push from the Bears in the second half. The Mustangs move on to the playoffs with the 31-16 victory over the Bears.

Football - Mercedes at Mission

The Mission Eagles hosted the Mercedes Tigers with the District 32-4A Championship on the line. Turnovers kept the Eagles from keeping the District Championship all to themselves and now they will have to share it with others. Congratulations to the Mission Eagles on their accomplishment and we wish them well in the playoffs.

Sharyland Playoff Volleyball

The Lady Rattlers kept up their dominance of Valley volleyball as they took a 26-24, 25-16, 25-20 win over Brownsville Hanna in a Regional Quarterfinal match Tuesday night.  Of course, we have lots of photos in the Sharyland section.

Sharyland Homecoming

Yes - we also have Sharyland Homecoming photos!  They're on the way, and we still have a lot of Sharyland v Edinburg North game photos to upload.  Hope to have them all up by this afternoon.

Sharyland v Edinburg North Football

Sharyland's Sean Landez (#21) celebrates in the end zone with team mates J. C. Valadez (#11) and Marco Avila (#3) after scoring a touchdown on the opening kickoff. The Rattlers delivered a thumping 48-7 win over Edinburg North and assured themselves at least a share of the District 30-5A title.

Football - McHi at McAllen Memorial

 

The City of Palms Championship was on the line on Friday night at McAllen Veterans Memorial Stadium. The McHi Bulldogs played the role of visitor, and the McAllen Memorial Mustangs were the underdog home team coming in with a two game loosing streak. The stage was set and the Mustangs came out firing fast by scoring on their first offensive play. The Bulldogs tried to answer, but turnovers stopped the Bulldogs offense again. The McAllen Memorial Mustangs never looked back and beat the McHi Bulldogs 42-14 to stay alive in the playoff hunt and take the city champinship.

Sharyland Freshman Football

Its fun watching the stars of the future - you wonder what 9th grader will be setting records in a couple of years.  We had a chance to get some good shots of both the Sharyland freshman teams - both the White and the Red teams in their games against Edinburg North.

Football - PSJA North @ Nikki Rowe

Thursday night felt like a playoffs nigh at McAllen veterans memorial Stadium. the Nikki Rowe Warriors hosted the PSJA North Raiders in a game where "Serious Playoff Implications" seemed to be the only way to describe it. Both the Raiders and the Warriors put together a heck of a NAIL-BITER. Neither team wanted to go home on the loosing side. The Nikki Rowe Warriors scored 63 points, and the PSJA North Raiders failed to top that mark with a failed fake field goal attempt to leave their score at 60. Congratulations to both teams on a great game.
